WB Proudly presents...

I always thought that Disney had the most Pez, but after putting this page together, Warner Bros. must be close.  So many Variations, especially with regards to stem colors and markings.  Plus there are some real nice Variations with the heads too.  Like the eyes and mouths!  Let's take a look at...

Tweety Bird

The big difference with this bird is the eyes.  There are quite a few Variations.  From left we have the latest and greatest Charming Tweety.  Then we have the flat eye, stencil eye, painted eye and the plastic eye insert.  It's very hard to tell the difference between the painted and stencil.  Some say it does not exist.  The way I look at it, if it's real messy, it's painted.

Here's a close-up

See the one on the far right?  Pretty messy, huh?  The one in the center is the plastic eye piece.  All Tweety's will have recessed areas around the eye.  Well, almost all.

Here's another close-up of the flat eye guy.

See.  Perfectly flat.

One more thing about Tweety.

This is a cool stem to look for.  This is on a Tweety, but there are a few others with stenciled stems.  Witch D comes to mind.  For a great list of all the Variations with Tweety, including eyes, copyrights, thumb tabs, visit the Variations discussion that was done on him by clicking HERE.

Sylvester

The thing to look for with this sly guy is his whiskers and hair.  Some have white whiskers, some have ivory, some have black lines, some don't.  Some have tall hair, and some have low hair.  Low hair?

Let's take a look...

From the left you see just plain old white whiskers and then plain old ivory whiskers.  Now this is where things get real exciting!  That's right, then comes ivory whiskers with the black details and the white whiskers with the black details.  Shocking!  My guess is that the white with detail is the hardest to find.

How about his hair?

Some have have and some have short.  And hey, I just noticed the eyes.  See how one has the pupils centered?  You learn something new everyday.  One other thing.  If you find a WB on an odd color stem, it's most likely a HK stem.  Not sure why, but many show up like this, brown, green, yellow.  They're fun to look for.

Just for fun.

He's an odd looking dude, eh?!

Meep Meep!

Once again the eyes have it.  Along with stem colors, the eyes on Roadrunner can be painted or stenciled.  The one second from the right makes me anxious.

Here's another great Variation to look for.  They're hard to find (HTF) but worth the hunt.

This one is Made in Spain!

Here's a close-up.

This is a 3.9, NF (no foot) but the Spain dispensers can also be 3.4, and footed and NF.

Here's Road Runner's friend!

The Wile's shown are 3.9 pink WF (greenish whiskers), 2.6 pink WF, 3.4 pink NF, 2.6 pink NF, 3.9 red WF (gray/brown head), and 3.9 red WF (brown head).  A thing about the green whiskers.  I don't know this for sure, but maybe, just maybe, the green could be caused by the sun?  I've seen this green guy in many different shades and it makes me wonder.  I don't know.  See Speedy below.

The Cutest Pig!

I just love Petunia.  Not much difference in them besides a little different shade of face colors, and those goofy eyes.  Look at the one on the far right and tell me that doesn't make you smile.  Looks kind of like my year book picture from seventh grade.   Another tidbit of information is that she has hair like an Angel.  No, not blonde and flowing.  The hair pieces snap on (over) the head.  There is a small strip of plastic on the back of these pieces that opens when the hair is being placed over the head.  Once the hair is on, the hair takes its original shape.  This "break" in the back of the hair piece is normal and is the same design Pez used for the Angels.

 I did a real poor job of explaining that so as they say, a picture...

See the opening in the back of the hair piece, right above the kicker?  Note the base of this split.

Daffy Duck

We're talking eyes, beaks and stems now.  You've read about the plastic eye pieces.  Well, this guy has the same thing as Tweety.

A couple of nice Variations...

See the eye pieces on the Daffy stage left.  I think that would be on your right?  The same guy has the painted tongue.

But there's more than this.  Check out this guys beak.

dafbeak.jpg (20655 bytes)

The one on the left is orange one-piece, middle is the yellow one-piece and last is the yellow "split beak".  This split  beak detaches from the head.  They did this so you could pretend he was shot by Elmer Fudd and move his beak to the back of his head :)  I'm going to try that some day.

And again...

Look for the...

Made in?

Spain.

Speaking of cool.

One Cool Cat

This is Cool Cat.  He came with feet and without.  The footed version came made in Yugoslavia and Austria.  He came with a 3.9 patent.  So what's with the differences in the ones shown.  Allow me to get psychotic for a moment.  Thank you!

 Would you check out these Inner Sleeve colors!

catiss.jpg (19986 bytes)

I would imagine that most collectors wouldn't give a you know what about Inner Sleeves, but sometimes you can find some interesting ones.  And shoot, it's another variation.  I guess I'll save candy pusher color and shape for another time :)

What's up Doc?

Not much to report on Bugs Bunny.  Besides a few different shades of gray for the ears and a white or ivory face, he's just good old Bugs Bunny.  He does have some good stem markings, though.  A dispenser can't get by without some sort of Variation.  Here's some stems for your enjoyment:

HK=Hong Kong

A=Austria

C=China

H=Hungary

S=Slovenia

Foghorn Leghorn

Really not too may differences, but some nice Variations in head colors, and some stems, of course!

Henery Hawk

Same goes for Henery.  You gotta love the stem colors.  It doesn't show up too good in the pic, but some are black and some are dark brown.

Merlin the Mouse

Another prime example of great stem colors!

Oh, and some of these guys come with "whites of the eyes."

It's not super HTF, but something to look for, just the same.

Speedy Gonzales

OK, so the great one to find is the olive green face.  Here's the deal.  It was discovered recently that some of the olive green dudes had just the regular brown head underneath their hats.  But, in all fairness, some olive green had heads that were totally olive green.  So, was it the sun fading him, or what?  To me, it's too coincidental that if you place a brown head Speedy in the sun it turns olive (this has been done), and that the cool Variation to look for is an olive green head.  It makes me wonder.

Well,

See what I mean?

Tasmanian Devil and Yosemite Sam

The only Variation is between the Sam's. Note the long whiskers on the American version and the shorter whiskers on the foreign issue.  The reason for the shorter whiskers is to accommodate Body Parts (pieces used to dress up the stem of a dispenser).  The long whiskers got in the way.  Body Parts were not for sale in the US of A so he got to keep his beard.

And the latest and greatest from the world of WB!

European Football!

Cool!

And Back in Action!

Well, we've come to the end of our show, but there's always more!
