Here we have some MIP, or Mint in Package. Some might say MIC, or Mint in Cello (which usually refers to the clear bags), or even MIB or Mint in Bag (which usually refers to the colored bags). Call it what you like, they're just fun to collect.
Here's a couple Chicks with some nice older 1970's candy packs.
These are from the early 1970's. Use caution when handling old cello. It can be quite brittle. The Doctor was never 100% when I first purchased him, but now, after trying to be so careful, he still managed to escape!
These two are from 1979. How do I know this? They are on 3.8 USA stems. Normally Donald will be found on a medium blue stem. If you come across a powder blue or white, chances are it will be on the USA stem.
Dumbo with the normal blue head and one with the harder to find gray head.
Here is Girl with blonde hair. See the mixed fruit candy pack? She also comes with instructions on how to fill your dispenser, and Valentines graphics on the other side of the insert.
Pay attention to the candy packs that came with this Panda and Scrooge. They are the 70's style packs. The insert is for a flocked Pez stand mail-away premium, one of the most common inserts around this time period, late 1970's.
This is Goofy C, Road Runner A, Spiderman A, Small Ear Batman, dark Green Hulk, Speedy A, Santa C and Mickey with removable nose. They have the same late 70's insert, but a later style candy pack. I'm not sure of exact dates, but they're somewhere around the late 70's or early 80's.
Lamb, with yet another interesting candy pack.
Pluto, Practical Pig B, and Donald with the Lemon and the Multi-Flavor packs.
These are some C Series Trucks. The C Series are the ones with movable wheels and two axles on the back, and no dip in the rear fender between the wheels.
These four have a great insert. It's a paint set. I'd love to know if they really work but really don't want to open one. See the colored squares at the top of the insert? Add a little water and you get paint!
Coach MMM and Joker, and, of course, on cool USA stems!
Creature From The Black Lagoon, and with a cool tattoo insert.
Here's some from one of my favorite series, Kooky Zoo. I know what you're thinking. "Rob, that's Thumper from Disney." Nope. Without a Disney copyright it's called Rabbit.
Here's some from the Easter series, a FEB (Fat Ear Bunny), Duck with Flower, and Rooster.
And we have an Orange and Snowman from the 1970's.
If you've seen my MOC page, the tag on this bag may look familiar. It's the same as the green and yellow striped cards. There are also some bags that are like Halo cards but I'll include them on my Halo page.
Our final cellos, Jerry B (removable face pieces) and spineless Droopy, have my favorite candies. The graphics on these packs are the greatest!
Before you leave...
Here's a couple more. These are boxed dispensers. They were sold in vending machines. How cool is that?! The one on the left is, of course, a Football Player. The one on the right is a Fireman. How did I know that? I took it to my Dentist and had them x-ray it. And it also says Fireman on the side of the box.
